Celebrating Spring Thursday, April 13, 2023

By Dean Larry Gossen, PhD

Spring has sprung! It seems like everyone I talk to is so happy to see the warmer weather arrive and ready to say goodbye to the cold. Let's leave winter behind us. I must admit, I'm still looking for those "April showers" to bring the "May flowers."

NCTA Appreciates State FFA Wednesday, April 5, 2023

By Dan Stehlik, Faculty Ag Mechanics

Over 7,000 blue jackets flooded Lincoln last week for the 95th Nebraska FFA State Convention. The theme, “It’s Up to Us!” was appropriate as every contributor to Nebraska agriculture was engaged and striving for the excellence needed to build our agricultural workforce. I congratulate all who were honored and achieved their goals and, in many cases, scholarships!

Dean's Column by Larry Gossen, PhD

Teaching the next generation of farmers and ranchers has been the mission of NCTA since its creation 110 years ago as a high school. Founded as the Nebraska School of Agriculture, this model resembles what is known today as a magnet school: serving a particular field of study and addressing the demands of a changing world.

Spring Break Team Work Wednesday, March 15, 2023

Mar. 13, 2023

By Andela Taylor, Recruiter/Marketing Coordinator

Last year it snowed during spring break here in Curtis, resulting in a heart-warming news item and photos of students out on horseback feeding our NCTA herd, contrasting to what many college students typically do on breaks. The smiles on our students' faces while engaging in the work of caring for cattle show just what is meant when we say—"Where your passion becomes a career!"
